Men, you must know your sexual addiction triggers regarding acting out in tempting circumstances. Each man has different triggers, and learning how to escape them is necessary. You must practice your escape plans like you would if you were a football player on a team. When triggered, immediately shift into escape practice mode.

Stories of Avoiding Sexual Addiction Triggers

For example, when triggered, one man practiced going into his front yard, sitting down, and allowing the chemicals in his brain to settle down. He would not return to his house until all the desires had melted.

Another man knew driving by a specific park from his downtown office would trigger him. Thus, he traveled on the interstate around the park and then went home from work. One day, his daily routine accidentally led him past the park, but there was no triggering him, as he had not acted out in months. This is called a travel plan. Driving past certain massage parlors or prostitution areas triggers some men. Thus, a travel plan is a must in their journey of seeking healing.
