As a pastor and a counselor, I can assure you that there is help for sexual addiction. It takes more than courage. It takes more than willpower. It takes the Lord plus Christian counseling and a dedicated support group.
My book, Healing Sex Addiction: The Christian’s Journey of Overcoming, shares firsthand accounts of men being caught in a web of addiction and feeling hopelessly trapped, and then slowly but surely transforming into the husbands and family men that God has always intended.
Take 1 Thessalonians 5:22, for instance: “Abstain from every form of evil.” Answering to God and seeking the truth in His Word results in a surrender like no other — a surrender to a loving authority. Yes, God loves you and wants the best for you. And Christ is the breaker of chains.
Bible Verses as a Source of Help for Sexual Addiction
Men with sex addiction and sexual compulsivity can trust what the Lord has to say about breaking free. Over and over again, He shares the transformative power of mercy, faith, and obedience. Below are some helpful and inspiring versus that prove God can restore anyone from anything:

Nahum 1:13 — “So now, I will break his yoke bar from upon you, and I will tear off your shackles.”

Jeremiah 30:8 — ‘It shall come about on that day,’ declares the Lord of hosts, ‘that I will break his yoke from off their neck and will tear off their bonds; and strangers will no longer make them their slaves.

Jeremiah 5:5 — “I will go to the great And will speak to them, For they know the way of the Lord And the ordinance of their God.” But they too, with one accord, have broken the yoke And burst the bonds.
Mark 5:4 — because he had often been bound with shackles and chains, and the chains had been torn apart by him and the shackles broken in pieces, and no one was strong enough to subdue him.
